Repeat Prescriptions

If you are on long term medication you may be able to obtain repeat prescriptions without seeing the doctor. Let the receptionist know what you require 2 working days before you run out.

Every 3 months you will need to see a doctor or nurse to review your medication unless otherwise agreed.

Due to the current COVID situation we are taking prescriptions over the telephone. You can also request your prescription in person at the Centre, by post (including a stamped addressed envelope), or you could make arrangements with the local chemist of your choice to collect your prescription.

Alternatively you can register for our online services and order via the link at the top of this page. Please register online by completing our Register for Online Services form.

Prescription Fees

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.

View the cost of prescriptions on the NHS website.

You can also find out if you are entitled to free prescriptions.
